Trying to Fly a Kite

We got Avery a new kite and she has been so excited to fly it. We finally had a windy day, but unfortunately, it wasn't a steady enough wind to keep it in the air. Maybe next time!

Hats!!!

Avery got a new bike helmet and gave her old one to Haley. Avery loved the knee and elbow pads! Haley was not too thrilled at first to have the helmet on. Then once we got it off, she keep trying to get it back on.

Haley keeps trying to put everything on her head. The other day, she got Avery's underwear on it! And boy, was she proud! Today it was a swimming diaper. She was really mad when she couldn't get it off, though. Avery thought it was so funny, that she just had to join in the fun!

Kev put up the pool under the slide. At first, Haley was not too happy. I would be mad too, if someone got me out of bed, put a swimsuit on me and then shoved me a a cold pool of water! But, she quickly got over it and was so excited! Her favorite thing to do was start climbing up the slide and then sliding down into the water on her belly. She only swallowed a little bit, I'm sure. Avery just loved it! At first, she was nervous about sliding down. We went to a pool last week and she slid down the slide and got a mouthful of water, so that was it for the slide that day. So, it took her awhile to warm up to the slide idea. But then she didn't want to stop! She also made up a song and dance about swimming. It was a fun afternoon for everyone!

Getting Ready for Bed

We were getting jammies on the girls and Haley crawled away. When we found her, this is what we saw:She had been trying to get in that drawer all night and we wouldn't let her. It was just driving her nuts! She wanted to get in it so bad! And she found her chance! Mom and dad were distracted reading Avery a book! She didn't care about the book, she only cared about getting into that drawer, just to see if she could! Avery was pouting because we wouldn't take a picture of her in the drawer!
Apparently, we have a climber!


Whoever said to make your bedtime ritual relaxing and calming obviously did not have kids! Or at least not my kids!

Another Jeep Ride

Avery had to take Woof Woof for a ride!
It has been nice the last few days, which is a GREAT change from the last couple of weeks. No thunderstorms, no tornadoes, and very little humidity (knock on wood). So, we have spent a lot of time outside riding the jeep, drawing with sidewalk chalk, swinging, and going for walks. We even went to the pool the other day and I got burnt. I made sure the girls were covered in sunscreen head to toe and didn't put any on me! I never said I was the smartest cat in town!

Fontenelle Forest

We went to Fontenelle Forest the other day with our friends, the Pedersens. The girls and boy had a lot of fun! We even saw a wild turkey to which Avery said, "Daddy can't shoot that one because it's a nice turkey. He only shoots the ones when he goes hunting. Those are the mean ones." Only Kev's little girl!

Isaac really liked Haley's glasses on, until Charlotte wanted to help put them on and poked him right in the eye!

So, this is our day. Avery has been really wanting me to take a lot of pictures the last week or two, so I am more than happy to oblige! Makes up for the last couple years of her never wanting the camera near her!



Kev is using all of his spare time (when it's not raining, of course) painting the house. He figures at this rate, it should be done by the end of the summer!
